We travelled to Queensland in August 2004. We went to Cairns, the Cape Tribulation and Hervey Bay. These shots represent just some of the scenes that caught my eye while we in the Northern part of Queensland. Of course the balloon flight we took on a cool morning in Mareeba provided a qïte different perspective.

Fraser Island: fire and whales
After Cairns, we travelled down to Hervey Bay. In the days we were there, we went out on a whale watching boat on two separate days. Each time, we witnessed the large palls of smoke coming from Fraser Island - the result of a burning operation. The whales, of course, were magical to watch.
