We stayed a few days in Shanghai. Not from choice, really. Getting sick meant that we had to stay a little longer, but there is plenty to do and see around Shanghai, so it was an interesting place to be detained.
What to do on a cloudy, wet day? The Shanghai Museum is well worth a visit. It is simple. The exhibits are beautifully displayed. You can get a reasonably priced lunch in the Museum restaurant. Highly recommended. Coming from someone who finds museums and galleries to as dull as dishwater, that's high praise.
